David does not have the so called "Peter Pan Syndrome", he is a pedophile.

Discussion

Peter Pan Syndrome is not an official diagnosis in manuals like the DSM 5 or ICD 11, it's a popular term used to describe adults who avoid typical adult responsibilities.

These individuals often resist commitments, don't plan for the future, may not work or study, avoid relationships, and frequently rely on family or friends for basic care and financial support.

It's not considered an official clinical syndrome because it doesn't meet the criteria psychiatrists and psychologists use to define mental disorders. However, these behaviors can indicate other emotional difficulties, such as depression.

Some abusers may try to use this term as an excuse to downplay the seriousness of their actions, saying things like, "I never grew up, I feel like a child, that's why I get involved with children." This is a way of rationalizing their behavior.

Pedophilia, on the other hand, is a paraphilic disorder, clinically defined as a persistent sexual attraction to prepubescent children.

Having the attraction without acting on it is not a crime. It becomes a crime when someone acts on that attraction.

The focus is on the act itself, regardless of the abuser's behavioral patterns whether situational or preferential, type or subtype.

David is a pedophile.
