Help please

I bought an phone on eBay. DPD tracking shows it was never delivered to me , it went to a pickup point, then after failed delivery attempts it was marked “return to sender.” BRT Italy tracking also confirms it was returned to the seller.

I even have an email from DPD saying they don’t know what happened, it was an internal error, and the package is already on its way back to the sender.

The seller insists it was delivered and escalated the case. eBay has now let my case on hold for 3 days while they ask the seller for documents, but they haven’t asked me for any proof.

I’m worried eBay will just go by the green “delivered” icon on their site instead of checking the full tracking details. Has anyone been in this situation before? Do buyers usually win cases like this?

**It was sent on BRT but is the same company of DPD . They are BRT in Italy and DPD in Germany .
