Is it normal for newly weds that the only intimate bonding you have is sex

Seeking Advice

I’m (32) and my husband (32) have been married for a year now. We met online and when we started dating, we always have deeper conversations in a lot of areas in life.

We don’t have a long period of courtship, we put a label in our relationship after few months of getting to know each other because— we were both in love.

Fast forward, we got married I moved to his place and we live together - I really felt happy and nurtured on this new phase of my life. However, as time passes by, I noticed we have a lot of different interests— he’s not yet finished with his childhood phase, he likes to build Gundam robots, watch anime/marvels, play video games (occasionally) and now he’s into beyblade game toy.

When we have something to celebrate, we do travel and have some activities but beyond that, usual days — we don’t even have something to talk to when we’re having dinner together, I tried to open a conversation but he’s focus is to watch something from TV and when we’re about to sleep, he’ll be busy with his phone browsing. I feel that he has little interest on me now, I miss the feeling of having deeper connection. Yes we have a good sex, he’s constantly still saying Iloveyous, hugging on bed but at times, there will be moment that I’m not part of his world. I wonder if I’m just overthinking or it’s quite a normal phase in marriage life.
