Any cat rescues to avoid?

I am looking to get a cat at the end of the month. I would get one sooner but I am gone 10/24-26 and don’t want the poor thing to be adopted then left alone for a few days.

Even thought it will be a few weeks I have spent literally hours on Petfinder. I know each place has its own application, plus I want to be intentional and meet a few cats before just adopting one.

There are so many! I’m sure most are great, are there any to avoid?
