Pittsburgh Jobs.....
I arrived Mid June and feel as though I burned through $6K without having that great of a time, I've scaled way back on doing pretty much anything because of how shocking it was.
I was flush and excited about being here for the Summer.....I wanted to experience everything the City had to offer and figured I could get some random $16 an hour job and stay afloat......the level of Gatekeeping is what shocked me the most.
I finally landed an $18 hour job morning shift (thank God) which will offer overtime starting October 6th but will only last until December.
At this point I'm considering attempting to build back my nestegg which will most likely be less than where I started and just cutting my losses before I'm completely depleted and defeated.
I've worked in Client Facing Paid Media Strategy in the past Fully-Remote but those jobs are non-existent it seems. I had some interest from an Agency out of GreenTree that would have been 6-Figures before moving here which wet my appetite, and some recruiter who was completely useless (expecting me to do his job for him) but made me hopeful that there are Digital Marketing jobs here.
I wasn't opposed to pivoting in different directions either, attended Virtual Career Fairs, signed up with Pennsylvania CareerLink and AprentiPGH but those places are less worthless than LinkedIn at this point.
It seems the bulk of people employed around here, particularly in Recruiting, only serve to refer you to one another in an endless ping-pong match to justify their own positions and CYA.
