Why Weren’t Birdman Or 1917 Nominated For Best Film Editing?

Discussion

I think that would be a no-brainer for them. We all know that neither movie was entirely shot at once. So the seamless editing would definitely be deserved for a win or at least a nomination. Besides, 1917 is a war movie. And The academy loves giving that award to war films (Sergeant York, Air Force, From Here To Eternity, The Bridge On The River Kwai, Lawrence of Arabia, Patton, The Deer Hunter, Platoon, Born On The Fourth of July, Forrest Gump, The English Patient, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, The Hurt Locker, Hacksaw Ridge, Dunkirk, etc).
