AITAH for telling my wife she's too fat for sex because she broke my dick?

I (34M) have been married to my wife (33F) for 7 years. We’ve always had a pretty solid relationship and a healthy sex life, but over the last couple of years she’s put on a lot of weight. I’m not saying this to shame her — she knows it, we’ve talked about it, and she’s admitted she struggles with emotional eating. She went from curvy to obese, and it’s changed the way our intimacy works.

Recently, we were having sex and things got… rougher than expected. She was on top, and while moving, she came down at the wrong angle and I heard this pop. Immediate pain. Turns out she actually fractured my penis. I had to go to the ER, and it was one of the most humiliating, painful experiences of my life.

Recovery has been brutal, both physically and emotionally. I’m terrified of it happening again. My wife felt terrible and cried for days, but she also brushed it off like it was just “bad luck.” For me, it’s not just a fluke — her weight makes it really difficult for us to move safely during sex.

I told her that I don’t feel comfortable having sex until she loses some weight, because I’m honestly scared for my health. She took it as me calling her unattractive and fat-shaming her, and now she’s accusing me of abandoning her when she’s “at her lowest.”

I get that weight gain can be complicated and not easy to fix overnight, but I also feel like I have a right to protect myself from injury.
