Like many of you, I had a folder of “saved” content across Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok — recipes I’d never cook, workouts I’d never do, and travel spots I couldn’t find again. Basically, a digital graveyard.

I decided to fix it. 3 months, countless hours, and 500 commits later, I built **Trott**:

* Share any Reel/Short/Youtube Videos→ AI extracts useful info (ingredients, steps, location, product name, etc.)
* **Pinterest-style visual grid** to browse content
* **Natural language search** (“that 15-min pasta recipe”, “hidden café in Tokyo”)
* For travel: auto-extracts locations + Google Maps routes
* Built-in **AI chat** to answer questions about your own saved library

📱 **Where it’s at now:**

* v1.0 (live on iOS) → Travel-only
* v1.1 (currently in App Store review) → Supports *all categories* (recipes, workouts, products, etc.)
* Play Store → in closed testing, public launch soon

This is my first big solo build outside of work (I’m usually buried in backend infra). Honestly, it’s been equal parts exhausting and fun.

👉 I’d love feedback from you all on:

1. Do you have the same “save & forget” problem?
2. Which category would you actually use most (travel, recipes, workouts, products)?
3. Does it seems something you would use? Maybe pay for it?

If anyone would like to test out the beta versions, I would love to add you to the testflight/playstore beta.

Thanks for reading — and thanks to this sub, a lot of your posts have kept me motivated through the grind 🙌

Spent 3 months, 500 commits, and countless late nights building Trott — an AI app that organizes your saved Reels/Shorts/TikToks into a searchable library 🚀
