Is Claude a decent replacement for 4o in creative writing?
I’m a lyricist and author and 4o was indispensable to my workflow. It was generally not great at match my style or even offering cogent line alternatives and polish — but it, itself, writing wasn’t my use case for 4o. It was an incredible thought mirror / thought partner. I’d send it lyric fragments, chorus pieces, and short story concepts and drafts and 4o, without teeth pulling or excessive prompt engineering, would break what i sent into its components and analyze the mood, meaning, literary devices, and how they coalesced with emotional intelligence and structural rigor. ShitPT-5 was worthless at my use case. Now something has happened to 4o again where it’s become as trite, confused, and as difficult to wrangle as 5.
I don’t want to use Gemini because i have strongly negative sentiments and philosophical issues with Google. Grok was always out the question because I hate fascists. So I was leaning towards Claude/Anthropic’s offerings. To those with experience with Anthropic’s AI, would it fit my use case do you think? If not, what would you suggest? The only really hardline for me is Grok. Who are you guys using now?
