went back to serving and quit after one shift
So, I got a full time career job outside of serving and after a couple of years I started thinking to myself “man, I kinda miss the serving life. I had some fun doing that despite all the BS.” Wild, I know. But I couldn’t shake that feeling. So I got a part time serving job at a ECW&G restaurant near me. I did my training shifts, etc. first night out on the floor post training I’m serving this table of four and this woman orders a cocktail. She drinks it. She orders another one (same one) but this time with a double shot. Cool, I bring her the double shot drink. She sends it back bc she doesn’t like it??? Well maam, have you considered that a double shot cocktail will have more of an alcohol taste than the last one? Anyway, I watch with my own eyes as the bartender makes her a new one and I SEE him pour the double shot. I bring her new drink and she sends it back because she says it doesn’t taste like a double shot???????? I tell her that I saw him make it with my own eyes. She also has an attitude this whole time as if IM the dumb one. I walk away to put in an order and I see her get up and talk to another server about her drink, complaining. And it was after that day I realized why I wanted my career job so badly. I never went back to serving again. Dog bless yall who still do it and still put up with these people, because I’d probably have a meltdown if I had to rely on serving as my full time means to make money again.
