2TB Upgrade Help

Hey y'all! I decided to buy the 8 AI+ Polar Tempest edition which will launch at Best Buy on October 7th. However, I'm trying to buy the upgraded 2tb ssd to swap it out as soon as I get it. My question isn't exactly how to swap it out, but rather how to boot up the device afterwards and make sure that I did it correctly? I've never owned a handheld or upgraded anything like this before, so I'm excited but a little nervous! All i've seen on youtube is how to put it in, but not necessarily what comes next? Also, what recommendations do y'all have for the SSD? I was gonna go with the Crucial P310 2230 because I've read a lot of good reviews for it.
