I should’ve bathed my girl yesterday but I put it off until today and she got fly strike overnight

I feel awful. I’m a terrible chicken mum. She had something wrong with her and I bought some epson salts and I didn’t even see any flies buzzing around. Please don’t leave it too late like I did if you have a poorly chook. My family member had to ‘deal’ with her this morning. I’m so gutted. I failed her. I should’ve bathed her yesterday morning but I got ready for work and said I’d do it today instead. She might well have died anyway but she spent her last hours with maggots burrowing into her bum and I feel like a monster. Should I get rid of all my chickens? Am I a terrible person? My family member broke down in tears after she cut her head off. She did the right thing to end the suffering but it’s our fault for leaving her. I just didn’t think. If it was one of the bunnies I would’ve been more aware or even if it was back in the summer I would’ve thought about flies, but instead we left her overnight and now she’s gone. My beautiful girl.
