Medellin question

Just rewatched the making of Medellin episode. Walsh rewrites the whole script and they send Gaghan home… so did they reshoot everything up until that point? The next scene we see is the big action sequence which E tells us is the final scene to shoot. Did they just shoot Billy’s new script from scratch? Wouldn’t that have delayed everything by months?
