Been in the role for nearly six months, feel like I’m failing.

I’ve been working for a federal agency since April. In the beginning, I was told that it can take 6-12 months, even longer, to really get the hang of things and to really understand the intricacies of the role and the tasks I’m required to do.

But as of late, I feel like I’ve been making too many silly errors and mistakes and I feel like my EL1 has slowly withdrawn from me. Plus, one of my team members is away and I’m doing twice as much work as the other members of my team (which is known by my entire section).

I always ask the members of my team for help but I feel like I’m being that one person who has no idea what they’re doing. I know I’m probably overthinking it and I shouldn’t be so hard on myself, but it’s been really hard to get out of this mindset.

Sorry to vent a frustration.
