Are there any rules against serial sleeping around/dating?
I know the title sounds silly but I swear I’m serious lmao. I’m going to delete this later hopefully before anyone at my store sees it but wish me luck.
Let’s say there’s a crew member (training to possibly be a mate but not likely imo), that is just constantly trying to get in crew’s pants?? Is that seriously allowed? I know dating is, but, this person is constantly inviting coworkers out for drinks, gets super hammered and tries to sleep with people. Like, throwing themself onto crew members while really drunk and trying to convince them to hook up. As far as I know it’s only actually happened (like, the hooking up/dating) once or maybe twice, but it’s habitual that this person is trying this. There are at least 7 people that it’s been tried on, two of them were barely older than 20 so that’s gross on its own imo. It’s not even just the hooking up attempts, but also just ending up so drunk with coworkers at normal get togethers that they throw up and can’t function. Obviously a lot of the crew has stopped hanging out with them and are very uncomfortable, some people have even switched their schedules and asked to change sections. It makes crew parties (like goings out that used to be really normal, ie raves, holidays, etc) that used to be open invite really awkward because people either don’t want to invite this person or don’t want to go to things that person is going to, which is just further opening a divide between that person’s clique and everyone else. And now this person has found fresh meat with the new hires and is basically restarting the cycle.
At work, they follow around the people in the store that they’re interested in to the point that they’re not even working, they’re just stalking people. Some people are really uncomfortable even being involved in conversations with this person, and it’s lead to some of the new hires being somewhat isolated because people don’t want to be around the stalker, and the stalker is constantly following the new hires. Even if people do talk to the new hires, stalker is so jealous and hijacks every conversation they’re in to try and regain full attention specifically of the person they’re interested in.
I haven’t worked at TJ’s that long so maybe I’m just used to other jobs where this kind of thing was just so out of left field. Am I overreacting for thinking this is inappropriate? Like is this even reportable? How would this even be handled management wise?
