Is Art from the devil? (Please read the post)
Don't know if you know the story of Giuseppe Tartini. He was a great violinist from the 1600/1700, which most famous musical piece is called "The devil's thrill". By the words of Tartini himself, one night he dreamed about the devil. Tartini sold his soul to it, then asked it if it could had play one musical piece for him. Apparently, the devil played the violin for Tartini, and the musical piece it played was so beautiful that Tartini awakened and tried to replicate the piece for himself. According to Tartini, "The devil's thrill" is his best work, yet is not even half as beatiful as the devil's version was. This story makes me thinks so much as I'm an artist, and I believe Art is one of the most beatiful gifts God gave to us. Yet Tartini was inspired from the devil and not from God... What does it mean? Is the devil the true maker of Art? Who gives to artists the talent they have for creativity and beauty?
