Ever open the adjoining door?

Just curious if anyone ever has opened their side of the adjoining door to get a better listen.

I have done it a few times and it is always quite a rush (because they could open the door or hear you opening the door).

One time I preemptively opened the door when I checked in (and I forgot about it). At some point i was just hanging out in my room watching TV and someone opened the other side. It was a guy (probably had the same thoughts as me). We both quickly closed our doors.
