Launch Auto-Charger stopped working

Looked around a bit and just found a bug from a couple of years back that made these stop working that was apparently fixed.

In my case, they were working perfectly until I started using a new ship. I moved all of my tech to the new ship and the auto-chargers just do not work on the new ship. I've moved them around, removed them and put them back, destroyed them and crafted them new again. Nothing. They just don't work on this new ship. It's just a little ball Experimental ship. No other problems except the auto-charger.

Any idea what's going on?
