I just did a water change. Why is the water so murky?

My betta is in a hospital tank (slightly smaller tank) and I just did a water change a few hours ago and the water is very murky. The water wasn’t murky before even tho I didnt change it for days so why is it murky now? (also Im using his current filter because I only have one rn). That never happened to me before.
