Model S vs X

Long time lurker hoping to get some insights from this awesome group. Currently drive a 2023 Mercedes EQS 580 SUV. It’s extremely comfortable, but also so incredibly boring to drive. My mom recently got a 2026 Model Y AWD. That little thing is sooooo much fun to drive. The tech is awesome and it puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it. The EQS, is so floaty and numb in comparison.

So, I’m toying with the idea of getting a Tesla. My heart wants the Model S but my brain thinks the Model X is more practical. My wife and I have 2 kids, 6 and 3. My wife has 2026 Volvo XC90 in the 6 seat configuration so I don’t technically need a large SUV.

For people that have had or have both Model S and X, can the Model S serve as a practical everyday family car?
