Settings issue or do I need a different lens?

I currently have a Sony a6600 with a tamron 70-180mm telephoto lens and am interested in getting into travel vlogging, but all the videos I take end up being super weird pixelated and laggy looking. Is this due to an incompatibility with a non-Sony lens or is there some tweaking I can do in my settings to take better video?
