How do I used Chine-Po and Wo- Chine

I got them from the mystery gift and everytime I used them thay won't battle with any Pokemon that I come against. I am new with Pokemon Violet and I am getting used to it but not with these Pokemon because they won't battle with any Pokemon. If you know what I can do so they can battle with any Pokemon that I come against with in the game
