HVAC Installation Issues and Yelp Reviews
Posted originally under Heat Pumps and got no responses so Reddit suggested I post in this forum: I recently had a Mitsubishi Heat Pump installed by a local company and posted previously on my decision tree that went into that decision. After install there were various issues. The company never told me that the Nest I chose as a thermostat wouldn't access all the fan speeds even though I specified that a quiet system was of paramount importance. There were other issues, they wouldn't acknowledge until I pushed them, that holes that were created in the wall opposite the duct they moved, was likely caused by that work. They wouldn't consider refunding partially or fully, the cost of having an MHK2 installed to replace the Nest. Previous posters on my other thread had said a good company would have told me the pros and cons of the various available thermostats. I initially gave them 5 stars because their install team was great. I downgraded my review to 3 stars after these experiences and after they sent a person to install the MHK2 who didn't know how to set it up fully, leaving me to figure it out and calling Mitsubishi myself. They had told me they had a close relationship with Mitsubishi because they do high volume business, but when I asked specific questions about the MHK2 they said they had no more of a relationship with Mitsubishi than I did and they had already spent "hours" trying to get information. They made is seem like I was ungrateful for their efforts even though I still don't have answers (does my unit have the capacity for 4 or 5 fan speeds?) After many back and forth emails, they are sending a higher level tech to explain my MHK2 to me and make adjustments. The owner and the new sales manager have been applying intense pressure on me to reverse my reviews and restore my 5 star rating. I'd love to hear what people think, especially those in the HVAC business? I really don't feel I can give them 5 stars, I want my review to be honest. My review was factual and fair, it was not a rant. . .but the pressure I am being put under (I'm causing risk to the livelihood of their employees, etc) is really distressing. . .
