First time being honked at :(

I passed my test 2 days ago, I have been out a fair few times getting use to driving on my own and I feel it’s gone well.

Tonight at about 9pm I was driving home from work and went to do a left turn into my road. Baring in mind it’s a very tight road with a lot of cars parked on the side so you have to be extra careful driving past them, not to mention someone could be coming out at the same time!

I put my left indicator on in plenty of time but it turned itself off as I started to brake. I noticed probably 10 seconds later so popped it straight back on and continued to brake to come down to gear 1.

All of a sudden as I go to turn the person behind me starts continuously beeping, it really shook me up as-if he saw something I didn’t? I checked around me and everything was fine so I continued to turn.

I did honk back which now I feel awful about, I think in the moment I was panicking but also really frustrated. (I did have P plates on as-well)

I’m now really anxious to drive again and scared to see said man on my travels…

If I had done something wrong for example not turned my indicator back on I would understand, surely he was looking at me though to know I indicated in plenty of time to begin with and braked gently?
