The most peculiar compliment I have ever been given.
At a party, a guy came up to me and said, "you seem like someone who can repair vintage watches." Initially, I didn't grasp his meaning and inquired, "Is that a compliment or does it come off as offensive?" He chuckled and stated that I possessed "a serene appearance and hands resembling those of someone skilled in managing small components." I’ve occasionally reflected on it since that time. I've never really worked on a watch for repairs; at most, I've replaced a battery. Yet, whenever someone requests assistance with minor tasks such as "open this can" or "tighten this screw," I recall that phrase and genuinely aim to resemble a watch repairman. It was likely the oddest, but also the most enjoyable, compliment I've ever gotten.
