House Heating Question

I am looking at putting an offer in on a house that only has a stove with a back boiler to heat the rads. The house was built 20 years ago. I am wondering is it still possible to add oil fired heating to this house? Any regulations or complications that would stop this? I did read that oil burners aren’t to be installed in new builds but not sure that would apply to this property.
