I’m a naive apprentice, and love the work I’ve been doing. I can see the steady progress I make each day, and feel like I’m learning.

However, once I journey out, what are my options outside of foreman, super, or taking a more prominent role on the office side of my union? I’m early enough in to not know what I enjoy, and I’m 100% going to get my card, but a part of me wants to know what alternatives exist for people who’ve completed apprenticeships in the UA. CWI? Instructor at the union or community college level?

Don’t get me wrong, I do love the work I’m doing presently, and recognize I’m in an unbelievable position where many battles have been fought to get steady wage increases and a care for my safety, but I’m just young, and want to know what else is out there and here other people’s stories.
