What are can’t miss places for a solo trip in Portland?

Good afternoon, friends :)!

I’m planning on going on a solo trip to Portland around the 3rd week of October and was just wondering what the weather usually is like around that time and any places you don’t think I should miss! I won’t be renting a car so will be using public transportation and staying on Downtown/NW area- which I know eliminates a lot of beautiful hikes and falls so my apologies. I’d like to request safe places specifically as a solo female traveller. Thank you all!
