I have a question: what’s your opinion on people liking childlike characters in a sexual way?

For context, someone made a post in the ZZZ subreddit asking: “Is liking characters (like Soukaku, Jufufu, and Zhao) wrong?”

They said:

“I see people calling me a weirdo and a creep. I’m not like that! The reason why I like them is because of their personality and design, not in a sexual way. It’s starting to bug me more than I thought.”

I replied: “As long as it’s not in a gooning way, it’s fine.” For some reason, I got 18 downvotes. I know the ZZZ fandom is down bad, but I thought that was at least limited to characters that don’t look or act like children.

Another example: on the HI3 subreddit, there was a post showing Theresa. Someone commented:

“………… Hmmm… Theresa is in her 40s, right?”

I replied: “She still looks like a child though. Unless you’re talking about Luna or her older-looking versions, this is the same argument as the 10,000-year-old dragon loli.”

Someone responded:

“She still looks like a child. There’s nothing she can do about it—that’s just how she was created. At least her mind is an adult, plus short adults exist. Blame Otto for that too, and someone has to continue the Apocalypse bloodline.”

I know some people say “it’s just pixels,” but in my opinion, no matter how old a character is supposed to be, if they look like a child—or if they act and think like one—liking them in a sexual way is just pedo behavior and weird to me.

I’ve never really seen that much in the Genshin or HSR subreddits anyway. What’s your opinion on this?
