Melee

Hey y’all. I’ve tried on a couple of occasions now to get into kill team, I have played maybe 10 games total. The thing that prevents me is how melee just feels bad. Purely trading damage means that charging just feels like a miss play when shooting is an option, even dedicated melee operatives might whiff attacks then get bonked by some dude with fists or a knife. Can anyone explain the meta around melee operatives, and kill team in general? How to make them work or just not feel bad to use - thank you.
