Skincare after death

My grandmother was 92 and bedridden when she died. In her last few days I could smell her sores. They were very stinky. The memory actually haunts me a tiny bit. I just wondered if the funeral home does anything to treat the skin for things like that. She was embalmed. I don’t think I will be emotionally affected either way. I’m sitting at her graveside right now and thinking about her down there all sealed up and wondering what’s going on in there. Honesty appreciated. By the way, you guys have been very kind to me in the past, so thank you for that.
