mayo clinic appointment - jax

Discussion

i will be going to the mayo clinic neurology clinic next week in jacksonville to be evaluated primarily for POTS and potentially other issues as well. i currently do not have a formal diagnosis and i am looking to achieve that with this appointment but im just not sure what to expect?

i live a few hours away and the appointment is early morning so ill be going and staying the night beforehand. mayo clinic has not really given me any information about what to expect/bring to this appointment. when i was scheduling, someone mentioned that they might perform testing after the initial evaluation with the neurologist but this isn’t scheduled ahead of time…

im just worried about having to go on several separate trips to get different testing done. im hoping they will complete all or most of the testing day of. but i don’t know if that is possible. i had to take the day off work for this appointment and im investing $$ to stay the night beforehand and im overall just concerned about wasting all this time/money for them to not really give me any answers. as im sure you can tell (and relate to), i’ve had a lot of bad experiences with dismissive doctors or doctors who just have no idea what to do or how to help.

can anyone share their experience with the mayo clinic and seeing neurology there? what did the process look like for you? were you able to complete testing day of or did they have you schedule your tests for weeks out?

any advice, feedback, recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

TLDR: i don’t know what to expect at my evaluation appointment. please share your experience/advice!
