Is this normal? Help me out guys 🙂

So, I met a girl about 2 months ago. We exchanged phone numbers. At first, we didn’t really talk, but after about 10 days, we started having conversations. Most of the time, she initiated, and it felt like she was genuinely curious about me.

Somewhere along the way, I developed a crush on her. Things went smoothly until recently.

Day before yesterday was her birthday. I wished her, but couldn’t meet her since I live a bit far away. A few days earlier (on September 28th), I had asked her if she’d like to watch a movie with me on October 5th. She said it was fine but mentioned that she needed to ask her mom first and would let me know.

Since her birthday though, she hasn’t been texting me. Whenever I text her, she replies coldly with short messages, and it always feels like I’m the one starting the conversation. Earlier, she used to reply almost instantly, but now her replies come after 1–2 hours. It feels like she’s doing this intentionally.

I once asked her if she had a boyfriend, and she said no.

I had even thought of gifting her a pair of jhumkas (earrings) when we met for the movie, but honestly, it doesn’t seem like things are going to work out. Maybe I should just drop all of this and move on.

Now I’m confused, should I continue pursuing her, or just leave it at this early stage? Or am I simply overthinking everything?

TL;DR: Met a girl 2 months ago, she used to text me a lot and seemed interested. I developed a crush. Recently she’s stopped initiating, replies coldly/late, and hasn’t confirmed our movie plan. I even planned to gift her jhumkas, but now it feels like it’s not working out. Not sure if I should pursue her or just let it go.
