How to select different teams?

I just got my son a Switch and this is his first game. When he goes to play a basic game there seems to be only about 10 different teams he can select? Is this normal? It says “rest of world” above the teams but you can’t change it. Is this normal? He’s getting tired of playing with and against the same handful of teams. I’m an old man and can’t figure it out.
