Puppy biting is relentless please help!
Hi all, my 14 (almost 15) weeks old toy poodle puppy is crazy. And I know that it’s normal but the biting is really getting out of hand. She loves to bite feet and hands like no other and nothing else is mildly as satisfying to her. We have tried redirecting to chew toys, plush toys, cow ears, yaks, stuffed kongs etc and nothing keeps her attention for more than a couple minutes.
I can’t even walk through the house without her constantly attacking my feet. I always stop walking, wait for her to stop and then reward but I think she thinks it’s a game. Sometimes I have to forcibly kick her off or pick her up because those little sharp teeth hurt real fucking bad. My hands and arms are covered in bite marks up to my elbow. My feet as well. It’s really horrible. And it seems that no other activity is as fun as biting my hands and feet. When I sit on the couch to get away from the biting she’ll jump up scream crying because she’s not able to bite me.
I rotate all these chew alternatives to keep them interesting and always have one in my hand to redirect her. But she’ll ignore whatever I’m holding and just go for my hand instead. She gets fed plenty we do activities like sniffing and scatter feeding, play with the ball etc. she is in no way under-stimulated. The only thing that seems to kind of keep her busy for more than 2 mins is rawhide but I stopped giving her that once I did some reading and realized it’s no good. I’m slowly losing it and it’s really starting to affect me. Please if you have any judgment free advice or tips or any comforting experiences please share. Thank you
