Is it okay to leave food or drink offerings In a fire?

Hi I’m new to here, I’m in the process of picking my gods/goddesses, and making an altar but I was wondering about food offerings, it feels almost blasphemous to eat an offering to a god but I also don’t want food to sit out, I’ve seen with a goddess like hestia that setting aside food for her to burn is a way of worship, but does that translate to the others, I’ve heard some say you can eat it as way of commune and accepting blessing but I thought this might be a good place to see about that
