Is there a magazine like "New Yorker" but with more Chicago content?

Seeking an xmas gift for relatives who live near Chicago. Thought of giving a subscription to something like the New Yorker but with Chicago entertainment & news. With articles that are erudite, thoughtful. No articles that are just thinly-disguised commercials or written mainly to appeal to advertisers. A real journalistic publication. Suggestions?
