"Security police" in Canada

Maximum Cringe

I just had someone identify themselves to me as retired "security police." Ain't no such thing. Said they "worked for the government" (unclear if directly or contracted), and that they have "friends on the force."

The most I can imagine in terms of SeCuRiTy PoLiCe, in Canada where there's no such thing, is that maybe this joker was a special constable on a force tasked with protecting a government building. In which case they would have had peace officer powers with respect to that specific property, but not off-property.

Context was they (in a visitor capacity) had reported a homeless person sleeping on-property, and were mad that another guard took longer than 0.42069 seconds to call the cops. Naturally, we are in an area where the cops will say, "Okay, is the person actually doing anything besides being present and asleep on-property? No? Okay, we'll send somebody eventually, but it could be an hour or more." It's often faster if we just keep coming back to the person every 5 minutes and telling them they have to leave until they do. And, of course, there's no reason you can't do both. Also case law requires you give an individual a reasonably opportunity to leave voluntarily before moving forward with trespass shenanigans.

RP seemed to think for some reason that the other guard couldn't call the police (wtf, of course they could), and told me they were thinking of offering to do it themselves. Which of course, they said, would have gotten an expedited response because of their FrIeNdS oN tHe FoRcE.

Anyway, I'll probably delete this post in 0.42069 seconds myself due to opsec operating operationally on operations in the operational area with my fellow operators, but before I do, have you a) ever heard of Canadian special constables being referred to as "security police" (in an official legit capacity, not by someone who doesn't know what words to use) b) ever heard of security police in Canada ever and c) ever had someone try to claim security police status to you?
