Moody is the fifth starter

I’m predicting Moody is the fifth starter heading into the season. Media isn’t really talking about it because of all the Kuminga whoop dee doo this summer but on the court that fifth starter is the most interesting and debatable issue.

Kerr specifically answered a question about POA defense at the presser yesterday by talking about how that’s Moody’s primary responsibility and he is hoping others (mentioned Podz and JK) can step up their capabilities there.

With Horford in the mix there’s less need for the connectivity and spacing that Podz provides, which makes it possible to lean into Moody’s size advantage at the 2. Podz coming off the bench can lead that unit.

And on the more conspiratorial side keep in mind it’s a contract extension year for Podz and the FO hasn’t exactly propped up young players market value in recent years. Just saying. Of course I could be wrong. Let’s see what happens!

Who do you think it will be? Podz? Moody? Buddy? Kuminga??! It can’t be Melton who isn’t healthy yet.
