Remote workers, do you feel like your employer doesn’t trust you?
I work remotely in financial sales and it seems very much like the current company I work for has zero trust for those of us who work remotely.
Always being monitored and checked up on. Me and the other workers actually feel like they’re accessing our laptop mics to hear us even on non customer calls based on certain things that have been brought to light where managers would’ve had no way to know the conversations we had as employees.
Another point today, manager emails me with a screenshot of my notes on a case. We add notes on cases whenever we call customers to create a log so this case was from a couple of months ago and he highlighted two attempted call notes and said ‘you’ve added a note to say you’ve called this customer but we checked the call logs and they’re not there, how do you explain this?’ I went into the phone system my side, scrolled back to those dates and screenshotted the outgoing calls in question and sent them back to him mentioning this distinction lack of trust.
Is this an across the board thing or am I just at a shitty company, probably the latter with the amount of staff who start here and then leave after a few weeks!
