Austin Energy timeline for getting back to contractors

Just got this message from the electrical company that's going to do some work on our home: "I sent another email this morning to get a disconnect date/time from Austin Energy." The initial one was a month ago! Is this typical nowadays??? It's been a long time since we needed an Electrician.
