Genesys is Advanced Ygo-lite
While the format is lower power than Advanced format, it still operates under mostly the same paradigm as Advanced format.
The meta and best decks in Genesys is, or ultimately will be, the decks with 0 to low cost engines with ~1 card combos that put up 2+ disruptions, and can use their points for non-engine/handtraps. Additionally, despite Konami's intention of wanting you to use boardbreakers, the endboards that these decks put up are typically too strong for any individual boardbreaker to effectively deal with.
Ultimately, the meta in genesys will resemble that of Advanced ygo. It will not be tons of "fair" decks like Exosister or Paleozoic like everyone initially assumed; it will be 1cardcombo decks like Lunalight and P.U.N.K that dominate, and they will also accordingly play as much handtraps that their points budget will allow, namely Droll (currently 5 points) and Fuwalos (currently 7 points) to counter the 1cardcombo degeneracy.
You might think: "well that's fine, Konami will just adjust the point costs on these decks"
But the thing is, even if they do this they will always release new archetypes. And new archetypes are designed to play with 1cardcombos, and usually they wont dominate advanced format enough for konami's radar to pay attention to them and be mostly 0 cost, such as the aforementioned Lunalight.
So tl;dr for ppl thinking this will be pre-2019 yugioh, you are unfortunately in for a disappointment. It's advanced format lite; while it is lower ceiling without links, it will still follow the same paradigm of "1cardcombos vs. 20 billion handtraps" that advanced yugioh does.
