Would you go for an unpaid internship (remote) ?
I’ve been job hunting for a full year now, with a Master’s degree and some solid work experience behind me. I finally got an opportunity, but it’s for an unpaid internship, remote, full-time (40 hours a week). It’s with a very prestigious international organization, the kind that is well known for never paying their interns.
On paper, it looks great. It would definitely add a big name to my CV and could be a good stepping stone. But in reality, it’s unpaid, I’d still be called an “intern” (I am 30!) after already having worked in responsible positions, and honestly, I find that pretty humiliating. Really.
Part of me feels like I should take it, because it might open doors later. But another part of me is angry about the exploitation.
