Best litter for a day with air travel?

What is the best kind of litter for this situation?

I’ll be traveling by plane within the US next week to adopt a very special cat. I think the cat will be fine for the duration of the 3-hour flight, but I’d like to offer the litter box before and after, and especially if there is a delay. I am constrained for storage, so weight and volume are both concerns. I will have some absorbent pads for the carrier, but I don’t expect a cat to voluntarily eliminate on a pad b/c it’s not normal for them.

Tidy Cats Lighweight Free & Clear seems like a good option, but I don’t know much about tofu or crystal litters. Corn-based litter, like World’s Best litter, is definitely lightweight, but it seems super messy and I think I need a larger volume? Maybe I’m being too judgmental.

Help me out, fellow Cat Staffers. What’s your opinion?
