Ex common law partner issues when currently married

My husband was in a common law relationship for almost 5 years. He and his ex share a child together. The relationship ended in 2021 and he moved out leaving her the apartment and furniture and splitting all their savings in half. They had no other assets and no house or anything. They were common law in Ontario and then moved to nova scotia shortly before the breakup. my husband and I live in Nova scotia now.

We have been together for a while and married for almost 2 years and came to be way after they separated. We have two children together. He has changed all his documents and stuff at work (works in the military) to reflect that he is no longer in that common law relationship.

They share 50/50 custody (no formal stuff, but it has been working great) and they split bills in half for the child. Other than that, no other connections. They do still share a joint account that they had during the rrlsrionship where they will send money over to cover the 50% for their child.

I want to get my ducks in a row. Although it is peaceful, she freaks out each time we get a child and i am now wondering if she has any claim for anything in his finances (other than child support) especially since they share a joint account. We have a house together and are looking to get more investments and do all kinds of great things. Would she deliver have a claim on anything ? Especially after the relationship ended so long ago?

Ask any question that would help you guys reach a clearer understanding of how to advice me.
