are virtual diagnoses accurate?
i don’t mean free online tests (though no hate to those!). i mean like actual diagnostic assessments that are done exclusively virtually.
i’m 24 and am looking into being assessed for autism, but most of the in person services in my area are expensive or don’t take my insurance. i found a virtual autism assessment company (prosper health), however i’m worried that it being entirely online might affect how accurate the test is. has anybody had any experiences with something like this? what was it like? if you were diagnosed in person, do you feel like that helped?
i’m not asking this because i’m trying to game the system or something. i’ve just been wondering if im autistic for like 6 years, and i don’t want my own assumptions to affect the test. i’m afraid that if it’s all done online, i might subconsciously affect the test results and get falsely diagnosed with something that i don’t have. whereas if it was in person, maybe they’d notice or something. i don’t know. thoughts?
