First viewing of TNG

OK, so the title is a little misleading as I’ve seen several TNG episodes during their original airing and rerun syndication way back when, but I never really got into the next gen (TNG, DS9, Voyager) eras and have just taking my first dive down the rabbit hole.

For context. My first intro to trek as a young kid was Wrath of Khan, so I grew up with the movies and reruns of TOS, but TNG never really engaged me, despite my initial excitement when I first heard it was happening. Enterprise caught me in a different time in my life and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and loved we the newer movies , the first couple seasons of discovery, and SNW. These modernized presentations have revitalized the franchise in the same way Daniel Craig’s James Bond made 007 relevant again.

So now I’m about 5 episodes into TNG and it’s got me. It took a bit to adjust to 1987 quality production and the limitations of 4:3 aspect ratio made for smaller screens (quite a dramatic shift if you haven’t gone back in a long time), but I certainly understand the many here saying TNG feels more faithful to TOS than any other trek.
