Moving to Charlotte from Pittsburgh

I’m relocating for work in January. I just learned this yesterday so I don’t have a place lined up yet, but I’m hoping Reddit will tell me where’s best.

I’m 27 (F) and moving with my girlfriend and our dog. I love city life, but I prefer to rent a house or townhome over an apartment. Right now we live in a 2 bed / 2.5 bath house for $1520 a month, which is obviously a bangin deal. We’re fine with downsizing to a 1 bed / 1 bath, but our budget is max $2000 a month.

What neighborhoods would you recommend for a young queer couple? And what should we avoid?

Beyond housing, I’m hoping to learn more about the activities in the area. I love playing soccer and doing improv, so tell me all about the adult rec leagues and comedy clubs!
