A Thank You Note to the DS Team — 1,000 Days In

A deep bow of thanks and gratitude to everyone past and present on the Dreaming Spanish team -- all of the current and past guides, behind-the-scenes folks, investors, founders, janitors, everyone.

Today, October 2, 2025, marks my 1,000th day of Dreaming Spanish and comprehensible input. I started on November 2, 2022, and have missed some days along the way (66 so far, there being 1066 calendar days between those dates).

I could never have imagined what an amazing and game-changing journey this would be! My Spanish being amazingly better than ever is but one part. The native content that has unlocked for me by this point has opened entire new worlds. And in chipping away ever so slowly and imperceptibly at an "impossible" task, I have learned even more about myself and what is possible when combining relaxed persistence, discipline and gratitude, and interlocking habits. Those life lessons are also opening whole new worlds.

If I were a billionaire I'd shower all of the DS team with money and in that still-limited way try to favorably impact their lives even more than they've impacted mine. I'd also try to instantly fund Dreaming French, Dreaming German, Dreaming Chinese, Dreaming Japanese, Dreaming. . . .

Since I'm not and can't do any of that, I guess this little Reddit post will have to do. I may never save babies from burning buildings with my Spanish, but I will try to share some of what I’ve gained with the people around me, universe permitting. In the meantime, if any of you DS folks happen to see this note of thanks, please pass it along and know that you are having a greater impact than you realize.
