Appealing furlough - MSPB website down

I was furloughed even though my position is user fee funded. Hearing the rumblings about RIFing furloughed employees, I think I should appeal my furlough. My furlough notification encourages filing an appeal with the Merit Systems Protection Board. The online appeal site is not accepting new appeals because their staff are furloughed. The MSPB does say all filing deadlines will be extended by the number of calendar days of the shutdown.

What I am asking is if there is anything I could or should be doing now? My position was in the bargaining unit, but my agency no longer recognizes the union.
